day 7

Spent the morning exploring old Fort Ord.Not much left that is recognizable except some old barricks that are being used to teach demolition and asbestos abatement.  Our old house is bulldozed under. Many new expensive houses atop the old housing. It was wash knickers day so we went to the local laundry. Then we spent the afternoon walking around the coastline of Pacific Grove.  Really beautiful sunny but with a cold wind.  We went to a local place for dinner called Fisherman's Harvest.  A fish market/restaurant.  Had Grenadier fish.  Delicious.  Haven't had it in 40 years.  Jan liked it too. After dinner we walked around town and stopped and had dessert and coffee.  It's off to San Francisco tomorrow via Santa Cruz.  We will miss the Centrella's yummy breakfasts, wine social hour and beautiful gardens.
