Day 2

Wow!!  What an awesome day! Last night we slept under the Sleeping Lion .Mountain  We started early with breakfast at the Drug Store in Fort Davis.  As we pulled out of town the church bells were ringing and the air was cool and clear.  NO HUMIDITY!!! We were driving a back road to get on the main highway through the mountains and they were beautiful.  We listen to church on the   radio and it was truly like a huge outdoor cathedral.  Once in a lifetime experience.  Things were smooth until we got to El Paso. Jan took the wheel and the Massey Curse kicked in.  We were hit with 40 plus mile an hour winds and a huge dust storm that lasted until Arizona. We crossed the Continental Divide. We don't how this will affect us but are hoping this doesn't make us incontinent. We tried to stop for a picnic but it started raining and blowing at 20-30 miles an hour.  Mixed blessing as now we don't have to scrape bugs off the car.  The Bordello is not the fanciest place but it's homey in a Grandma can't see the muck as well as she used to kind of way! Spent the rest of the day touring Tombstone, Boot Hill and having supper. Tomorrow California or Bust.

  2. This looks like a fun place to stay! I love the signs behind you, although I am quite sure my mom has no idea what any of them mean...... Because mom's don't know about that kind of thing......Right?..... Please tell me I'm right.

    1. Guess she is not in 'mom status' right now, Chris. Just sing BINGO in your head, and those thoughts will go away. That is what I always do! :~) Lorelei
